Why turn-based RPGs feel made for phones

There's a reason turn-based RPGs thrive on mobile while twitchy action games struggle. Turns let you stop at any moment. Your stop isn't a game over, it's just a pause.

I've played whole battles in Emberfall Chronicle across three separate train stops without losing a thing. That's the magic — the game waits for you, not the other way round.

The best ones also keep their menus readable. Small text and cramped grids ruin the experience fast, so the studios that nail the UI tend to win me over regardless of the story.

If you're new to the genre, start with something that eases you into combat before it gets spicy. Rushing straight to the hardest content just burns people out.
